Helping you find your mindful, healthy balance
Introduction
There’s a moment that happens more often than people realize.
A lab result comes back.A number is out of range.
And suddenly… everything shifts toward fixing that number.
But sometimes—
👉 your body is telling a different story.
When the Focus Becomes the Number
It’s easy to default to this pattern:
A lab value is flagged
The goal becomes bringing that number back into range
Changes are made quickly—sometimes multiple at once
And while that can feel proactive…
👉 it can actually complicate the situationor bring you right back to square one—because you don’t know what actually worked.
What Can Get Overlooked
Lab values are useful.
But they don’t always capture:
how you’re actually feeling
patterns that have been developing over time
physical signs your body is giving you
And in some cases:
emerging research may not yet be reflected in standard approaches
physical symptoms may be overlooked
meaningful patterns may be dismissed
multiple changes may be introduced too quickly
not enough questions have been asked
Which can lead to a situation where—
👉 the body’s response risks becoming confusing
When the Body Is Giving Clear Clues
There are times when the body is communicating clearly:
subtle changes in nails, skin, or hair
subtle shifts in mood or energy
digestive patterns that may seem small… but are actually big clues
While labs are an integral part of medical management—
👉 symptoms should be given equal consideration.
These moments deserve attention.
Not as a replacement for labs—
but as part of the full picture.
The Kitchen Sink Approach (And Why It Backfires)
When a number becomes the focus, it’s easy to throw everything at the problem:
new supplements
dietary changes
medication adjustments
multiple strategies layered at once
But when everything changes at the same time—
👉 you lose the ability to see what’s actually working👉 and what isn’t
Why One Change at a Time Matters
Clarity comes from contrast.
And contrast only exists when changes are made intentionally.
A more effective approach often looks like:
making one change at a time
allowing space to observe the response
identifying cause and effect more clearly
adjusting based on what the body actually shows
This doesn’t slow progress—
👉 it makes progress more accurate
Not Every Out-of-Range Number Means Immediate Action
Some lab values are influenced by:
recent dietary patterns
timing of testing
individual variation
Which means context matters.
And sometimes—
👉 the most helpful next step isn’t immediate correctionbut thoughtful observation and evaluation
Where Weight Loss Fits Into This
It’s also worth acknowledging—
for many people, weight loss is part of the goal.
And that’s understandable.
But when weight becomes the primary focus—
it can lead to the same pattern:
reacting quickly
trying multiple strategies at once
chasing short-term results instead of long-term clarity
Because weight is often:
👉 an outcome of how the body is functioningnot the starting point for fixing it
Which means—
when you focus on:
supporting your body appropriately
finding a way of eating that works for you
paying attention to patterns and responses
Weight often begins to shift as a result of those changes.
Not because it was forced—
but because the foundation supporting it improved.
A More Complete Way to Look at It
This isn’t about choosing between labs or symptoms.
It’s about learning:
how to deep dive into your own health
recognize personal patterns over time
stay curious instead of reactive
respond in a way that keeps you moving forward
This Is Where Coaching Can Help
Because understanding your health isn’t just about collecting data—
it’s about making sense of it.
Inside my coaching, we focus on:
identifying patterns across both labs and lived experience
reducing unnecessary overwhelm
creating a structured, step-by-step approach
helping you ask better, more informed questions
finding a dietary strategy you actually enjoy—so your approach is sustainable while you’re seeking answers or working through challenges
All without diagnosing or replacing medical care—
but by helping you better understand your own patterns.
Closing Thought
If you’ve ever felt like your health strategy isn’t working…
it might be worth asking:
What is my body consistently showing me?
And am I giving myself the space to actually see it?
Because real clarity doesn’t come from one number or one symptom—
👉 it comes from digging for the root cause…and more often than not, that becomes the key that unlocks the bigger picture.
