My Story

My health journey reached a turning point in 2016, but the truth is, it began decades earlier.

From early childhood, I struggled with anxiety, which intensified during adolescence and adulthood and was later joined by severe depression and persistent daytime sleepiness. Like many people with complex neurological conditions, my symptoms were repeatedly interpreted through a psychiatric lens. I did what I was told to do, followed treatment plans, took prescribed medications, and tried to function — but my health continued to decline.

Over time, I accumulated diagnoses, medications, and explanations, yet none addressed the underlying issue. Cognitive decline, memory loss, autoimmune disease, metabolic dysfunction, and profound fatigue became part of daily life. By my early fifties, I was facing the possibility of permanent disability.

A Turning Point

In 2016, I sought care from a new sleep medicine physician and was finally treated appropriately for Narcolepsy with Cataplexy. For the first time in years, my sleep — and my cognition — began to stabilize.

That improvement gave me enough clarity to start asking deeper questions.

In June of that year, I transitioned to a ketogenic way of eating, not as a weight-loss strategy, but as an experiment in metabolic support. The results were significant and sustained. Over time, I was able to discontinue daytime stimulants, resolve hypertension and fatty liver disease, reduce anxiety, and restore metabolic health. I lost over 60 pounds and returned to a normal weight range — but more importantly, my energy, mood, and cognitive function continued to improve.

What surprised me most was not how quickly some things changed, but how long others took. Healing was not linear, and it was not fast — but it was real.

What This Taught Me

My recovery reinforced something I had come to believe through lived experience: chronic illness, persistent fatigue, cognitive decline, and metabolic dysfunction are not inevitable consequences of aging. They are signals.

For many people, years — even decades — of medication use, ultra-processed foods, and metabolic stress quietly erode health long before anyone names the problem. Addressing root causes requires patience, curiosity, and a willingness to question assumptions — especially when conventional answers fall short.

This understanding led me to pursue advanced training in health coaching, metabolic health, and nutrition science, so I could help others navigate these same questions with clarity rather than confusion.

Why I Do This Work

I don’t believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions. I believe in education, context, and informed choice.

My role is not to tell people what to do, but to help them understand what their bodies are asking for — and how to respond in a way that supports long-term health, independence, and quality of life.

This page isn’t medical advice. It’s context.

If parts of my story resonate with you, it may simply mean you’re ready to look at your health through a different lens.

Invitation

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about the next step — and you’re looking for thoughtful, grounded guidance — a conversation is a good place to start.

You don’t need to have all the answers.
You just need a place to ask better questions.

Empowering Your Mindful, Healthy, Balance

Many people regain health, stability, and quality of life once underlying metabolic stress is addressed and ultra-processed foods are removed.

Chronic pain, persistent fatigue, cognitive decline, and low mood are often treated as inevitable — but they are signals. Over time, reliance on multiple medications and highly processed foods can quietly compound dysfunction rather than resolve it.

For most people, meaningful change begins with food — not perfection, and not extremes — but by returning to simple, whole, one-ingredient foods and removing inputs that drive inflammation and metabolic strain. Other strategies matter too, but nutrition is foundational.

If this perspective resonates with you, and you’re looking for thoughtful, grounded guidance, I invite you to start with a conversation.
