My Training & Credentials
My own health journey ultimately led me to pursue professional training in health coaching, nutrition and metabolic health. I am a Master Certified Primal Health Coach (MCPHC) through the Primal Health Coach Institute and a certified Human Intestinal Microbiome Specialist (HIM), having completed specialized training in the human intestinal microbiome in health and disease.
I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and an Associate degree in Medical Records Technology, giving me a foundation in health and healthcare that complements my coaching education, specialized training and lived experience.
My Story
My health journey reached a turning point in 2016, but the story began decades earlier.
From childhood into adulthood, I struggled with anxiety, depression and persistent daytime sleepiness. Like many people living with complex health conditions, I followed the treatment plans I was given and did my best to keep functioning, yet my health continued to decline. Over time, fatigue, cognitive difficulties and metabolic dysfunction became part of daily life, and by my early fifties, I was facing the possibility of permanent disability.
In 2016, I began working with a new sleep medicine physician and was finally treated appropriately for Narcolepsy with Cataplexy. Around the same time, I began experimenting with a ketogenic way of eating—not simply as a weight-loss strategy, but as an approach to supporting my metabolic health.
As my sleep, cognitive function and metabolic health began to improve, I had enough clarity to start asking deeper questions about my health. Over time, I experienced significant changes in my health and quality of life. I lost more than 60 pounds, and improvements in my energy, mood and cognitive function gave me a perspective I hadn't had before.
What surprised me most was that change wasn't always quick or linear. Some things improved relatively quickly; others took years. But the experience taught me the importance of curiosity, patience and being willing to question assumptions when the answers you're given aren't working.
My own experience changed the way I think about health. I came to understand how deeply nutrition, metabolic health, sleep and lifestyle can influence the way we feel and function—and how individual that process can be.
That understanding eventually led me to pursue advanced training in health coaching, metabolic health and nutrition science. I wanted to help others ask better questions, understand their own bodies and make informed choices without the confusion and pressure that so often surround health and nutrition.
I don't believe in quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions. I believe in education, context and informed choice.
My role as a coach isn't to dictate what you should do. It's to help you understand what may be affecting your health, explore what makes sense for your individual circumstances and turn that understanding into realistic changes you can actually live with.
My own journey taught me that meaningful change often begins with curiosity—and sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply start asking better questions.
